Application Process

‘WELL MATCH EMPLOYMENT AGENCY’ carefully listens to the employer’s requirements for a foreign domestic helper and also the needs of their families. We meticulously select suitable candidates, arrange video or in-person interviews, handle contract and visa matters, arrange medical examinations for the helpers, provide transportation to our ‘WELL MATCH’ dormitory upon their arrival in Hong Kong, assist with consulate registration and Hong Kong identity card application, conduct health checks in Hong Kong, provide pre-employment seminars, and offer language communication translation services.

The entire application process takes approximately 2 and a half to 3 months.

Employment Terms

Eligibility Criteria

  1. Recruitment qualifications
    • 1.1 Have sufficient financial ability to hire helper. Generally speaking, for each helper hired, the employer’s family income must be no less than $15,000 per month, or the employer must have assets of similar amount sufficient to employ the helper throughout the contract period.
    • 1.2 The employer must be a permanent resident of Hong Kong or hold a corporate contract prove employment in Hong Kong.
  2. Required Documents
    • 2.1 Copy of employer’s Hong Kong identity card
    • 2.2 Copy of employer’s financial certificate
      • A tax assessment form (Page.1 & 2) issued by the Inland Revenue Department with income for this year or the previous year, with annual income of HK$180,000 or above, (please do not submit a tax return completed by you or the company), or
      • Automatic bank transfer salary records in the past 3 months, or
      • Company employment letter together with proof of salary receipts for no less than 6 months, with a monthly income of more than HK$15,000. If the employment period exceeds one year, a tax receipt or
      • Bank time or demand deposit certificate (HK$360,000 or above) in the last 6 months, or
      • The bank issues an asset certification letter with a balance of HK$360,000 or above in the last 6 months.
        “Note: If you want to apply based on your spouse’s overall income, you need to provide a copy of the marriage certificate and a copy of the spouse’s ID card.”
    • 2.3 Original proof of residence in the last one month (electricity bill, water bill, rates, landline telephone bill, cable TV bill, or gas bill)
      “Remarks”:
      • Financial proof, mobile phone bill and bank letter – cannot be used as – proof of residence
      • If the employer cannot provide a valid proof of residence, he or she can also submit a proof of residence for a spouse or child, but must also submit documents proving the relationship, such as birth certificate or marriage certificate and a copy of the ID card.
      • Public housing tenants can use their housing certificate as proof of residence.
      • Tenants can provide a lease along with proof of owner-occupancy.
    • 2.4 Original of completed application form (ID 988A and ID 988B)
    • 2.5 Original of standard employment contract (ID 407), in 4 copies
    • 2.6 Family member information (full English name, date of birth, ID number or passport number or birth certificate number);
    • 2.7 If the applicants hire a domestic helper on behalf of their parents or family members, they must present a certificate of family relationship and an additional letter of guarantee declaring that they will bear the relevant expenses;
    • 2.8 If a foreign domestic helper is employed at home, a copy of the domestic helper’s ID card, passport and employment contract must be submitted.
    • 2.9 If the applicants are aged 70 or above, they are required to provide a certificate of relationship with their children and an additional letter of guarantee from their children. This declaration states that if the applicant is unable to pay the domestic helper’s wages, the children will bear the relevant expenses (applicable only for Indonesian domestic helper applications).
  3. Employer Responsibilities
    • 3.1 Provide accommodation for domestic helper:During the period of employment in Hong Kong, foreign domestic helpers must work for the employer specified in the contract and live at the employer’s residential address. The employer must provide foreign domestic helpers with a suitable and reasonable private accommodation.
    • 3.2 Not less than the statutory minimum monthly wage.
    • 3.3 One day off per week.
    • 3.4 14 days of labor holidays per year and at least 7 days of paid holidays per year.
    • 3.5 Medical expenses for illness or injury (whether caused by work or not), sickness benefits.
    • 3.6 Statutory labor insurance protection.
    • 3.7 Travel, meal and transportation allowance; and/or
    • 3.8 Severance pay, long service payment.
